Guest guest
Greetings, This is a wonderful idea for a number of reasons, Todd. First, I am well aware that Mel and the WSB gang had formed an " alliance " of sorts. Most of it was surely an endeavor of " profiteering " , but I am sure many are unable to allow themselves to see that. So, out of no disrespect to Mel or the WSB gang(and to save my breath from That discussion), I will take you up on your offer to stand point-proven at the end of the day- this should give me the opportunity to " practically display " a few things to the group at the tail end of all of this(circumstantially). [This is the start of Dietrich's post, which I have struggled with over the last few days, on how to deal with it. Well, now I have decided to show everyone what was written and respond myself - I may be over-reacting, but hey, it's something I feel very strongly about!! It's probably not worth everybody chiming in on this (unless you feel as strongly as I), maybe you could demonstrate your feeling by send him a virus or ten (JOKE)] Dietrich, your stupidity, audacity and ignorance amaze me, and I never thought much of you to start with (no disrespect)!!!! To say that Mel did anything in the name of profiteering shows that you know nothing about the man. Not only did he give more than anyone that I know and work tirelessly to educate people, he did it asking nothing in return! He spent so much time working on this list (ultimately to his demise I believe) for free, just to 'spread the word', with the exception of selling some of his books (which he would sell to you for less than wholesale price, if you had a prior edition). Mel had so many opportunities to profit from his work it wasn't funny, especially if you know anything about 's current financial situation (and his situation prior to his passing). I, like many of Mel's colleagues, was constantly frustrated with his lack of profiteering, especially considering how so many lesser people in this industry have a much higher profile and make so much more money from peddling their wares. What else can you say about a guy, who when deciding on what type of car to buy, gets a (used) minivan so he can pick-up and drop off attendees to his supertraining camp? Dietrich, think for one minute, if you were going to align yourself with one training system, for the sake of profiteering, would it be Westside?? How much of a profile do they have outside of powerlifting and our little S & C world? This is an idiotic statement and I really think you fingers have moved faster than your brain in this case, but maybe not? Also, if you had ever spoken to Mel on this topic, you would know that he didn't endorse everything that the guys at Westside say, and in some cases didn't agree at all - but hey, if he disagreed with you, then obviously he was wrong from the start, no matter who he stood next to. If you have followed Mel's work for any amount of time, you would also know that his 'alliance' with Westside wasn't a deviation from his original beliefs, since most of it is based on soviet research, something which Mel has always been an advocate of. I will be blunt, if any of your posts contain any such nonsense again - you are off the list. It may not seem like much, but I won't stand for having someone with so little respect for the founder of the group, publicly questioning his morals in such a ridiculous way, especially when he has no right of reply!
