Guest guest
Oh Rhonda thank you! That is exactly what I was hoping to hear. We're going to see him on February 24th, as they now have openings. I am very excited to hopefully address my daughter's physical issues- severe constipation, rashes, cradle cap and in doing so hope to alleviate some of her social and communication problems. Do you mind sharing a bit about your daughter? How old, earliest signs, when diagnosed, her biggest hurdles and of course her accomplishments since seeing Dr. Green. Thank you so much for your time! Sanna Subject: Re:Dr. Green DAN To: Autism_in_Girls_and_Women Date: Monday, February 9, 2009, 12:14 PM Our daughter has been a patient of Dr. Green¢s for several years. I HIGHLY recommend him. He has patients that fly in from many countries to see him, he¢s that good. He is also part of the DAN think tank and is someone who teaches others doctors DAN protocols. He travels to other countries and trains doctors as well. You wouldn¢t know all this by seeing his office. Its a little 1960¢s/1970¢s building in the old historic part of town. There is no etched glass or marble, his waiting room is donated toys and chairs. Nothing matches and it¢s a very comfortable homey office. There is a therapy dog, lab type, who wanders around and is happy to just ¡come in¢ during visits and hang out. The IV/lab room has a wall of children¢s videos and a tv/vcr for kids getting labs to enjoy during the process. You can also bring your own. The office staff totally understands our kid¢s unique behaviors and stresses and does everything they can to work around them. MANY parents in WA state (where we live) drive down to OR to see him. I know we would drive twice as far to do so. His kindness and utter devotion to helping children with autism is astounding. His knowledge is incredible, he is a walking encyclopedia, yet is the most unassuming and humble person. Our daughter is lower functioning and he has worried about her many times in the struggles she has had. He has even gone so far as to give us his home cell number, just so that we could get a hold of him during a particular crisis if needed. Basically he is a modern day country doctor with incredible knowledge. Of course there is always a negative to everything, and his are that EVERYONE wants to see him and he wants to help everyone. He often has a long wait list, and sometimes is not taking new patients during particular bad rushes. His office does not take insurance so you have to pay up front, but you get the paperwork to try and submit expenses to your insurance. If you get the chance to have a consult with him I would recommend it! Rhonda
