Guest guest
What are they and how do I know if it happened to me? I've received these too, and only today heard on the radio that this "hyjacking of emails"was going on. Guest guest
I don't really know except if you open an email from someone you know and it's content isn't something they would normally be sending you, you probably have received one. I got one from Steve and I opened it, it took me to a web site selling Viagra! So I knew Steve wouldn't send me to that info! lol To: DS_Friends_Keshishian Sent: Wed, March 3, 2010 12:48:44 PMSubject: Re: Hyjacked Email from Steve What are they and how do I know if it happened to me? Guest guest
> What are they and how do I know if it happened to me? Pearl...I don't really know that much...I have heard you can look in your sent box to see if email that YOU didn't send are being sent...things like that. Be very careful about Where and when you enter your passwords, there are FAKE things out there...Emails that say things like.. " you need to update your records " Then asks for info...or Your account is about to be closed unless you respond. You look at these messages and they are addressed to someone vague...like Dear customer. Never give info from an email that was sent to you. Always call the company or YOU go to there site...not clicking the link provided if you suspect a scam. Once they have your passwords or other vital info they can cause damage. Some just use computer programs that hack your password. After they have your password they can sign on AS YOU and send out emails and hyjack your contact list of email addresses. To help prevent this...use a strong Password. A mixture of letters (upper and lower case), numbers and symbols. For example...babydoll would be an easy password to hack. b@ByD0!1 would be much harder. $@8t4!aD*%%pRt would be even harder...lol...also harder to remember!
