Just got an email from Dr K. My iron, calcium, potassium and Vitamin A

are all low and my PTH is elevated. He suggested I come in for a visit

since no one is following me. It's a 3 hour drive one way to Delano so

I'm debating whether I can afford the $70+ cost of gas plus lose a day's

worth of pay. No longer frustrated...just said I have to choose between

my health and my budget.

> On Friday, May 30th I had blood drawn to check my labs because I was

feeling tired and lousy. Since I have a history of low iron, protein,

and chronic diarrhea, I suspected something was out of whack and needed

checking. When I didn't hear from Dr K's office after a week, I called

Dee to check on my labs. Since she was away from her desk I left a

voicemail--no response. The next week I called and left a second

voicemail--no response. Today I called and spoke to Dee and & nbsp;she

transfered me to the front desk where my chart was located. I waited 10

minutes on the phone waiting for Dee or the " nurse " to pick up to

discuss my results--no one picked up.

> Needless to say I'm upset and frustrated because I can't get the

results of my bloodwork. Granted I could always assume " no news is good

news, " but that doesn't begin to explain why I feel so lousy. I wish I

could say this was the first time that I've been let down by Dr K's

staff, but it's not. In the past five years, I've emailed/left

voicemails for Dee and it's been hit or miss (mostly miss) if I get a

response.

> As much as I love/adore/worship/respect Drs K and Z, I'm beginning to

wonder if I should continue to use them as my DS surgeons or look for

another surgeon to follow me. Right now I don't have a PCP to follow me

(my former PCP moved out of the area and I don't know if her replacement

is pro-WLS) and I hate to have to dump all my follow ups on my

hematologist. However I need someone to keep an eye on my bloodwork and

help me tweak my supplements as necessary.

> Will try emailing Dee and Dr K one more time. If I don't hear from

either of them by Friday, I will start looking for another DS surgeon.
