It is NOT true that he can't give you a prescription. MS is an off-label use of naltrexone and doctors give scripts all the time for meds for uses other than those they are approved for.

My neuro gave me a script because he said after reading the material, it was all anecdotal, but it couldn't hurt me.

That was just a cop out.

Good luck with with the gp.

Learha,

Yes, there is a doctot at the U. of Iowa that has written several papers on

LDN. His name is Yash Agrawel (Spelling).

You will find more info at the " Boston Cure Project " website.

Tom

Hi Leatha,

If money is not a great issue, I would do a phone consult with either Dr.

Bihari or Dr. Weeks. Then I would have the prescription filled with Skip in

Florida or with Irmat in New York.

I am so glad that we did not fold when my husbands Nero rejected LDN and

wanted him start the Crab meds.

Even if he had not been so successful with the LDN, I would have been

happier just trying it for the first 6-9 months and then conceding to the

other direction. And boy am I happy he did try it and it worked so well.

Hopefully you can go back into your Nero in about a year and tell him that

LDN was successful. Don't forget to keep a journal.

My best

Aletha

MAYBE YOU COULD PRINT DR. AGRAWEL'S PAPERS AND SHOW THEM TO YOUR DOCTOR. SAYING PLEASE - THIS CAN'T HURT ME. I'M RUNNING OUT OF OPTIONS DOESN'T HURT EITHER. TRY TO APPEAL TO HIS SYMPATHY. YOU COULD ALSO LET HIM TALK TO SKIP. MY DOCTOR IS VERY NICE AND SHE IS WILLING TO DO THIS KIND OF THING. MAYBE YOU CAN BE PERSISTENT AND HE WILL RESPECT YOU FOR IT AND GIVE IN. GOOD LUCK.
