Hi msjaet,

After my mom refused to take her pills we had no choice but to crush them

and give them to her in a spoon with juice or in a spoon with Jam. I

haven't noticed any ill effects from having to do so with mom but now she

doesn't want to open her mouth period when she sees that spoon coming - :)

Msjaet,

Welcome, one of the things I was told to late is that much medication

does come in liquid form. You might want to ask if the meds you are

taking come in liquid form. I do not know why more MDs do not prescribe

them to those who have a problem taking meds.

I did not find this out until it was to late for Mom, but it might pay

to ask.

Not all of the pills are time released....some might be able to be

crushed. We gave dad his pills in chocolate pudding...his favorite.

He never refused them. Over time, everything had to be in a liquid

form or crushed. Your pharmacist should be able to advise you if

he/she knows of the problems.

Good Luck,

Lynn

msjaet,

I put my dad's pills whole in applesauce of pudding. He takes them

right down everytime. Hope that helps.
