Hi all ! yes - I realise now that you can take these 2 in conjunction

with each other. I am about to start with Copaxone (and been on LDN

for about 5-6 months).

Is anyone else doing this and if so - are the side effects any

different/worse than usual. A little concerned about the hot

flushes/racing heart rate etc!!

Hi ,

I was diagnosed with RRMS in Dec. 03 and have been on

Copaxone since Jan. 04. I began taking LDN in March

04 and to date haven't had any of the " bad " side

effects you mentioned. I've only had good things...NO

more urinary urgency, less numbness and tingling in my

right side, which was effected. Just remember we are

all very different and what effect one my not effect

the other at all. Copaxone shots are very small, just

go under the skin and I, so far have not had any bad

side effects from it. I notice a whelp at the

injection point but that is generally gone by the next

day. Occasionally, but only very occassionally I get

a bruise, usually if I hit a small vein by accident.

These to go away after just a few days. You might

feel a lump at the injection point for a couple of

days but too will go away. I chose Copaxone because

it is subcutaneous rather than the deep muscle shot

along with the fact that it doesn't make one feel like

they have the flu the next day and one doesn't not

have to worry about blood testing to check for liver

damage and with some of the other drugs. Be sure to

get the AUTOJECT 2 from Shared Solutions, it make

injections so much easier. Also check with them about

their other FREE Copaxone products such as a small ice

pack, travel medicine case and refrigerator lock box.

I ice the area I plan to inject for 3 minutes prior to

injecting and for around 5-10 mins. afterwards, it

helps cut down on the slight sting I fell. Shared

Solutions will send you all these things free, they

can be ordered online or by phone. Also they have a

free Cool Wrap, a long gel bead filled cloth that can

be cooled in cold water and tied around the neck to

help one feel cooler. These things come in handy on

truly hot days. In case you don't have a number for

Shared Solutions here it is: 1-800-887-8100

Good luck to you, I wish you only the best in you

battle against this " nasty " little disease. Just for

future information, I have read where there is a

vaccine in the works for those of us with MS. It is

not for the general public only for those with MS.

Testing on the vaccine seems to be going well and

hopefully, it will be on the market in the next couple

of years. I know htat sounds like a long time for

something that could truly help but it's shorter that

5-10 years. There is hope out there, so keep a

positive attitude and keep your chin up. I have a

cousin who is a doctor and he says that a positive

attitude is 1/2 or better of the treatment. Good

luck again!!

there are only a few people who have experienced those side effects so i wish you much success and don't think you need to worry about feeling anything unusual. except for the initial insomnia and maybe vivid dreams. best wishes, kathy

Hi Kathy..I have been on copaxone since Dec of last year..never had any bad reactions (heart fluttering, out of breath) besides the odd site reaction that is itchy red and swollen, but now it doesnt affect me as bad.

I started taking LDN 10 days ago because it was like the copaxone wasnt doing anything for me..I was deterating worse everyday. But the good news is since Ive been on the LDN I have seen some of my symptoms from MS disappear. I can now walk around my house without any aid and can now walk short distances with my cane not my walker or wheelchair. My disability score went from 2.5 to 6.5 in a matter of months on copaxone alone.

Why are you deciding on taking copaxone since you have been on LDN? Is the LDN not working on you ? I was actually thinking as time goes on to actually drop the copaxone. Because i know for me it wasnt working as good as I wanted and hoped it would. But this LDN I know its working for me..I feel and see the results.

" A little concerned about the hot flushes/racing heart rate etc!!"

I have taken copaxone for 1 year now and LDN since March.

I experienced the copaxone flush etc 2wice only. and it was about 6 months after I started Copaxone. I curled up on the couch for 10 to 15 minutes and it was over in about 20-30 minutes. the second time was not as bad or as long as the first and I have had no other side effects since. Asside from the fact that I am not as mobile a man as I was a year ago.

Since starting LDN. I feel I have been about the same.
