A rash for a month is generally not due to Valtrex so it's probably an allergic reaction/overdose/underdose of one of the things he's getting. My son had the same type of rash. Some thought the rash was rubella. All I needed to do was rub olive oil 2-3 times per day over the affected areas. Rashes disappeared gradually in a few days.

Olive oil has some strong anti-viral properties. SUggest you at least try this inexpensive and easy remedy.

My sons 5 day rash turned out to be strep/Pandas back in January. He

seemed to get rashes on/off after that -bumpy skin with pink ness to

the bumps.

check your probotics for a strep strain that can be reflaring things. also if you are seeing the rash that means you have an active infection of it again. get ASO tested ASAP and start treating. OLE helps greatly in our house

Wow, that is good to know.... Rash to strep/PANDAS.

We just went to see Dr. Baptist in KS, DAN Dr. also immunologist, we are in process of running bunch of lab tests and will find out if my son has PANDAS... very nervous now...

How do I check if my probiotic is for strep strains...

What is ASO test? Dr. Baptist so far ordered OAT, Urine Amino Acid test, stool sample test and hair sample... Does any of them include ASO test?

I was wondering about if he allergic to the coconut. I guess I will

not give it to him for awhile and see what happens. I was so excited

No, no itchiness here. It just keeps coming out, first on his trunk,

then on his thighs. It just keeps coming, so I assumed it was just

virus coming out. I will ask his doctor on Wednesday. Thanks!

I know, same here, I was excited about knowing rash may be the signs of detox or virus/yeast die-off, but after chatting with more members from this group, I think I need to take my son to see at least pediatrician or immunologist again soon, even the rash is gone, but who knows rash will come back, I need to find out if the rash is from:

1) virus die-off or

2) strep virus related outbreak...

3) or certain food or molds, or tree allergy ( One thing that I took off from my sons' diet is the Oat contained in his new multi-vitamins. I did not know that my son' is allergic to oat until we ran the skin test for allergy items at immunologist's office this Monday, and when the rash started, I checked everything he was taking included food, supp, and I noticed that there is a fine print on his new multi-vit stated oat..., so I remove it, couple of days later, the rash was clean and gone..., so you never know, you need to get your son seen by allergist and run skin test and see what he may be allergic to and re-look his entire diet and supp....

no, you can have strep and it NOT be in the throat so it goes unfound for along time. which is why they will do ASO titer testing, which is anti- strep antibody serach basically

They start as little red bumps, get a white head, then it goes back

to being red. They are mainly on his trunk with a few on his arms

and legs. THanks.

that means IF you have a PANDAS kid that your child is likly producing antibodies to it thinking the GOOD strep strains are actually the bad ones and can be attacking the brain and other organs, so yes I would stop and find one with out. meaning the probotics may also be trigging the rash and be a strep rash

I wil see if his doc will test him ASAP! Thanks! His behavior has

declined a little, but he's never had any OCD issues and still

doesn't. I just thought it was viral die-off. I'll get him checked.

To my knowledge, he's not gotten strep. What does a strep rash look

like? Ours are red bumps, a little smaller than a pencil eraser,

that gets a white center, then that goes away and left with a red

bump again. Some are smaller like a pimple (and look like one).

What do you think? I will get him tested asap.

My son's rash was pretty tiny, small, but no white spot in the center, though... it looked like sweat rash, rash caused by too much sweat..., but i am sure it was not from sweat, we are in El paso tx, pretty dry and not that hot here, plus he did not feel itchyness...

good thing is that rash only last 3 days... and gone now.. still need to run test on it.

hum those sound a bit big for strep rash but I could be wrong. would you say they are blister like?? could it be chicken pox

Yes, it definitely could be chicken pox. Both my boys had a reaction

to the vaccine. My youngest got sick from it, then he got the mmr at

15 mos and lost him. Could it still be coming out after a month? I

plan to see the doc that's been treating him on Wed and see what he

Oops, forgot to tell you they get a little white head on them for

about a day, then it goes back to red, not really a blister, but I

don't know.

are you doing any antivirals, that could be pushing the immune system to finally deal with it
