Guest guest
Hi, I've been reading all the posts regarding constipation issues. I too have had a real hard (pun intended, lol) time since surgery. However, I had this problem before surgery anytime I tried the high protein diet. BTW, I think there is some genetics invovled, my mom and brother both have the same problem. Add to this meds and a lot of supplements and there you go. In an effort to more " natural " and not dependent on stool softners, I added fiber tabs. I started slowly but they caused me great pain. As soon as I stopped them, I was back to normal in a few days. After surgery, I was miserable. I tried MOM, fiber drinks, etc. none of it helped, only made it worse. However with the help of Vitalady (I can send you her entire email if you wish), I now have a daily routine that has helped tremendously. I still have to adjust, like when I'm traveling and such but this is what I have to do... each evening: 4 stool softners 3 to 4 mag oxide sometimes Miralax This usually works unless my routine is broken. My weight loss was really effected and I didn't start losing weight until I got it under control. I'm now down 36 pounds, feel so mcuh better and don't suffer with the gas and bloating. Hope this helps.
