Jae,

The chekkies may not be too upset to lose me from their ranks. In fact they

never really lost me, I still use some of their principles,

but this does not mean that they are all correct.

Anyone who says that they know everything about rehabilitation is lying.

Plain and simple. The field is still young, and no one can reach a greater

than 50% success rate. This is because of a multitude of reasons.

I do not know everything, far from it as it is worlds away from my area of

expertise. But I still know more than the average joe :)

You may tell me to re-read a lot of books, but I don't think that will

change my opinion. Having a research background allows you to think - how

have these authors come to their conclusions? How can they make these

assumptions? This is what critical thinking is about.

Critical thinking is about determining if a set of information is valid

based on its supporting research. It is never one study.

A. it cannot be anecdotal. i.e. janda, chek, nmt etc to be proved.

They can state that this is what they THINK but not that it is a fact, or

backed by scientific research. This is misleading those that are following.

Have you gone and read the articles that mel wrote on the subject in the

archives? How can you argue with their analysis of TVA? What about

Casler? How is he wrong?

Chek has an OPINION on how to approach rehabilitation. It is 100x better

than most approaches, even traditional physiotherapy. I still send friends

to the only level 4 outside of the U.S.A in my town, as he is the best to

treat them (I do not rate physiotherapy).

The opinion on how to approach it may work in 40-50% of cases. But there are

significant things lacking in the approach.

1. They do not use any psychological testing, and no behaviour

change/cognitive behavioural therapy to help/treat those with problems

beyond the physical body (which is most imho). My partner is doing research

in that field, and has also done the chek thing with me.

2. With their lifestyle approach (the latest course) they use a " loaded

questionaire " according to physcological theory - the questionaire can never

be accurately analysed because of the lack of cohesion in the questionarie.

3. They use the metabolic typing diet - which has a terrible questionaire

again.

Did you know that as you progress up the levels, now they are getting into

qi gong? This is worrying, as they are getting away from science and reality

into mystical and magical.

Anyway, im busy, and have been out of this field for nearly a year.

I just ask that anyone who learns the chek method go into HOW everyone came

up with these ideas. And don't think it is the be all and end all - as we

ALL still have much to learn. And also you didn't answer my question - the

field has moved on - why hasn't chek updated his information in the videos?
