Oh my gosh - I couldn't be more excited about this - our BELOVED

speech pathologist is finally going out on her own and starting her

own practice! She's officing out of the same suite as

Handler near Beltline and Midway Road in .

Her name is * Rollins*, and you can read her bio, etc. on her

website: http://www.kidspeakdallas.com She really focuses on

speech/language/social/emotional regulation for kids on the autism

spectrum.

We've been working with her for over two years, and she has by FAR

been the biggest part of Tom's progress and she's magic! We found

her originally at UTD/Callier when she did individual therapy as well

as the Early CLASS program, and then she moved to CompTherapy (I

think that's what it's called?) as a speech path. I have a thing

about going where the " magic " is - finding the BEST speech person,

the best Occupational Therapist, etc., and she has been MAGIC for us.

She (and her partners) are not only doing individual therapy, speech

evals, home/school picture symbol consults, etc., but she's also

doing a bunch of GROUP things. Starting in January, my son is going

to be in a preschool/Pre-K group Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-11am

focusing on language, social skills and pre-academics.

She's doing " Social Saturday " groups, focusing on social skills,

special " camps " during spring break, etc. and even a Friday night

date night! Lots of other cool kinds of things too.

Anyway, if you want more information about her, feel free to email me

directly at kellyvalenta (at) yahoo.com - or go to her website:

http://www.kidspeakdallas.com . 's absolutely incredible!!

I'm so excited for her to finally start her own practice and really

be able to do all the things she's wanted to do (and that she's so

great at) for so long!! Wooo-hooo!

I am looking for a speech pathologist like that in the

Houston metro area. I am interested in group

activities, " Social Saturday " groups, special " camps "

during school breaks, etc. Would anyone please have a

recommendation?

Thank you,

Iuliana.
