Background

The Fiscal Year 2008 Omnibus Appropriations bill will provide all of the funding

for all national disability programs.

Plans for this appropriations bill are changing frequently. Congressional

leaders are still negotiating the overall funding levels and possible cuts.

Many of the current proposals would be harmful to people with disabilities.

Congress needs to be reminded that the cuts proposed by the President in

supported employment, special education, housing for people with disabilities,

and other programs are unacceptable. Help us send a message to Congress that

our programs need adequate funding.

Status

The timing on the vote on the Omnibus Appropriations bill is uncertain. It

could happen anytime during the next several days.
