Guest guest
Hi I was wondering why my Mom needs a psychiatrist? We went today and he didn't even talk to her, just to me. It was something I feel her neurologist could handle. She asked him a question and he looked at me for the answer. She wanted to know if there was a cure for this thing she has. I told her not at this time but they are trying to find one. What good was he? What is the psychiatrist for? Do I need to get another one? Her Parkinsonisms are worse and I am cutting back on her Resperdol 1/2 a pill a day for 2 weeks than taking another 1/2 away until there are no more. His answer to that is to give her another pill but he didn't have samples so we had to get them from the pharmacy. Well she has an appointment with the neurologist on Oct 13th and I will wait until then to ask him if she needs this new med. Someone asked what meds she is on: Metoprolol, Plavix, Norvasc, Pravachol, Levoxyl, Exelon, Resperdol, Nitro patches and she has Nitro Tabs if needed. Now he wants to add Remesen (?). Didn't find that one on either list. She is so lost right now. She doesn't recognize her own home. Taking her for a ride and bringing her back didn't help. She wants to go home but doesn't know where home is. She truly does want to die and I think she has started the process. She eats very little ( one or two toast in the morning with a cup of coffee and nothing else until supper). Then it is the amount you would give a 2 yr old and she leave part of that saying she is stuffed. Her eyes are closed more than open, and her voice is very low. Well if anyone can tell me what I should do about the psychiatrist I would appreciate it. I pray for you all and your LO's, Jacqui
