Hello Dargie,

Thank you for sharing your poem. It makes me want to go to another

country for real and let myfamily remain with their good memories of

me. Ya know the Native Indians used to go off somewhere to die alone

to save their diginty. I often think about things like that and

wonder if it wouldn't be for the best. I truly don't think there is a

best way though. It is alot like raising children there is no manual

on how to do it. We just have to do the best we can....Hugs....Patti

Dargie - I REALLY liked your poem!!

And - Coyote - I am no expert but if it were up to me, I would bring the

seven-year old to see her grandfather. You might want to find a child

psychologist who could answer your question with a little more insight. . .

But Patti - if you stick around, your family can have MORE good memories of

you!!! There WILL be some; I am sure of it!!!

Y'know, I know the feeling. It's so tempting just to turn away

from all your troubles and the pain you feel you may be giving your loved

ones. But trust me when I tell you your family would suffer more without

you. I had two friends who died in the last decade -- one died of AIDS,

but never told any of us he was even sick. He hid it amazingly well. The

other committed suicide -- in neither case was there any kind of closure,

no chance to make peace, to help, to give one last expression of love and

concern. If my mother were to walk away from us literally, it would be a

worse loss than what we're going through right now.

Hang in there. You really are an inspiration to me, and I suspect

to a lot of others.
