Thanks Maree for the quick reply. The ongoing costs are a bit daunting I must admit but the thought of having somewhere to go at the drop of a hat is wonderful. I also want to buy something that will be a pleasure for me from my dad. I could spend a most of the money paying bills and credit cards off but when it's all gone I'd have nothing from my dad. So I want something that dad would have liked me to have and when I'm there I'll be closer to him.

I like most types of places but do prefer rivers to beaches but was long as the area is lovely I really don't mind. We aren't into water sports (Graham can't swim!!) but do like walking and just relaxing. It's also somewhere to get away from the kids (unfortunately they'll have to come along sometimes!!) because they are driving me mad.

I think I've said this before : I WAS NEVER MEANT TO BE A MOTHER OF TEENAGERS!!

Once I know exactly how much I've got I'll be looking much harder. Got a list of places and caravan parks to ring and have noted the classified sites on the net.

Hope to see you soon

Love

Helen

G'day Helen,First thanks for your NY sms, I received it and was neglectful in not returning my best wishes also.My daughter who's place is at Shoalhaven Heads only mentioned to me last week about a heap of people coming down there because a park at Kiama has or is going to close. I thought I should warn you, don't get stuck buying up something there only to find out you have to get out.I love my van and really hope I can afford to keep it but it is $3500 yearly for site fees and any visitors, including family, who stay overnight have to pay $10 a night each and $6 a night for their car, so it is expensive. It depends if you are into fishing, swimming, beach or river/lake but there are some fabulous spots the other side of Nowra and down to Ulladulla/Mollymook. Good luck I hope you find something not too expensive and nice, I'm sure you can do the nice bit easy. It's a great country and our east coast, north and south, is spectacular. The area around St 's Basin has really opened up now too, it might be a bit cheaper there, great for fishing/boating. Maree
