Guest guest
and everyone, I don't have an appt with Dr K yet but I do see him in July. Are you going down with anyone? I don't go to the support group here in Sacramento. I just spoke to a doctor yesterday who told me that there is a new insulin called byetta. It releases when you eat and it makes you feel full fast. He said that patients are losing weight on this insulin. I don't know if you should be so hard on yourself about the lack of weight loss. Maybe something else is going on. I mean, I lost 100 pounds and I feel like I ate like a pig. Maybe I would have lost more if I ate less and exercised but I like where I ended up anyhow. What does a hernia feel like? I think I may have one. Can anyone tell me their experience? I have this pain in my lower stomach, I guess near the intestines but off to the side a little. I have had it for awhile. The pain used to flare up and then go away in an hour or so. But, last night it was hurting all night, kept waking me up. This morning it still hurts. Also, I am craving dark chocolate. Not regular chocolate but super dark chocolate. What vitamin am I craving, lol?? -- **Wake me up from the nothing that I've become** -------------- Original message -------------- , If there is one thing I am, it is honest. I have been bad about sugar, fats, etc. I was never binging on sugar or drank high sugar drinks or anything like that. I just didn't cut it out of my diet. I ate ice cream, cookies, fast food, etc. I have always blamed myself 100% for the lack of the weightloss etc. But now I am not sure. I never lost even 1 lb after I had the pannilectomy, hernia repar and tummy tuck! Now I think it was because I got c-diff during that surgery. My diabetes came back only slightly, started after the c- diff, and has gotten worse lately. I got my Dr to change my meds yesterday because he had me on Glipizide, which can cause weight gain, and now I am trying Metphormin. Metphormin used to upset my stomach, but with all the iron I'm taking....its ok!My blood sugars have been really high this last week or two. They are running in the 200's. I am afraid they will put me back on insulin soon if I don't find a solution. I will talk to Dr K on my visit July 3rd about my options. When is your visit in July? Do you plan on going to the support group meeting next friday? > > > Vicki, > > > > > > I am in the same boat as you right now. Guest guest
Yes, I am on Byetta. I have recieved conflicting information. The pharmasist also called it insulin but the manufacturer's website says it is not,It's " An injectable type 2 medication " . It does help you eat less and not feel hungry as often. It litterally keeps me from overeating at times. I feel like the tank is filled to the top, kinda like I did when I first had the surgery. However, I have gained weight since I started it! *lol* I am doomed! I also get the random pains in my abdomen. They were really bad last night on my right side. They are not too common for me so I usually ignore them now. Of course, that is after several trips to the Dr and having them run xrays and CT scans. You better make an appointment if you want to see him in July. They are already booked untill the first week of July right now! If you want to go together, that is possible. Right now I am planning on letting my dad drive me because he does all the driving and I hate to drive long distances. I don't mind riding in the car, just not doing the driving. Guest guest
, You are right. It is an injectable medication but the doc did say it was a form of insulin. I will call Dr K and see what the appointments look like right now. How does a doctor determine if you have a hernia? Is it a test that they can run? Like an x-ray or something? Thanks. -- **Wake me up from the nothing that I've become** -------------- Original message -------------- Yes, I am on Byetta. I have recieved conflicting information.
