Guest guest
We used to receive money from IHFS program until our boys started receiving CLASS funding. You mentioned that you wanted respite care, I want to tell you what we did. We used the IHFS funding for therapy only but also received funds from United Cerebral Palsy strictly for respite care. IHFS also will provide respite funding but it will not allow you to draw for both therapy and respite too. So, in using both of those programs, we were able to draw money for both respite and therapy. Then, at some point I learned about the Non Ed funding offered by our school distriict.(from a parent, of course, the district would never divulge that info!) I asked about it and we were able to draw more money from this program for respite care than we were able to get from United Cerebral Palsy. However, the Non-Ed funding is strictly to be used for respite care only. My case manager through the school district knew that we were also receiving IHFS funding at the same time and it wasn't an issue since that funding was not being used for respite. If you're interested in learning more about the Non-Ed funding, ask your district to set you up with a case manager to work with you on this. ALL districts are supposed to offer this so if you keep getting people who claim they don't know about this program, keep digging until you find someone who does. a In Home and Family Support Program Hi, My son's name came up on the In Home and Family Support Program of County. Can anyone help me with how/whether he would qualify for services. I noticed that I am being asked about our family income. Can services be denied based on family income. I am primarily looking for respite services. Thanks! Crystal
