Guest guest
Checking in to say hey to all my fellow DSers. Life has been the hardest that it has ever been... and in my nearly 55 years, I've had a few. This year beats them all. But, there appears to be a tiny light shimmering at the end of a very long tunnel, and Gene and I are hopeful that it isn't just a trick of the shadows, but leading to a better future. Our son Tony is again in a psychiatric hospital. When we saw him after a week and a half, I couldn't believe the improvement. They have finally started him on an anti-psychotic medication... and what a difference. I wanted to start him on it a year ago, but I couldn't get anyone to believe me that he was suffering psychosis. Even now, they doubt that the medication is what has helped, but I am certain of it. He is a different boy. Now, whether the change will stay is the question. We are hopeful of bringing Tony home and not have him poison us anymore. Gene and I both have what I think are physical consequences of Tony's poisoning of us. Other than feces, bleach and cleaning solutions, I have no clue what else he used. Just the other day the kids told me that he would squeeze the juice out of berries in the backyard.... that Tony called poison berries. Well, they appear to me to be holly berries... which are quite poisonous. What a harrowing adventure we have had for the past year plus. Thank you Jo for everything you do for this group. You are amazing. Yes, I have failed to take good care of myself. Everyday has been just a struggle to get through for such a long time. Yesterday for the first time in six months I took on a small project. And, it even required getting out and meeting new people. I almost felt like my old self again. .......... good to stop in and say hi. Hope you are all keeping up the battle to stay healthy.
