If the headaches started with the rheumatological problems you defineately should bring it up to the rheumy...if you have headaches all along it probably migranes...rheumy headaches need to be told to the doc..cause the inflammation could effect eyesight...talk to doc..I am sure he would have said something if he suspected this..its just a good thing to watch for..Liz NJ

What is arteritis? The one thing I posess that is still flawless is my eyesight. I would hate like hell to have it go down hill with the rest of me.

Re: Migraines Kirk

Ask the doc if the headaches are related to a thing called arteritis...its important..cause it could effect your eyesight....Love Liz NJ Visit the Still's Disease Message Boardhttp://disc.server.com/Indices/148599.htmlThe materials and information contained in this message are not intended to replace the services of a trained health professional or to be a substitute for medical advice of physicians and/or other health care professionals. I live just outside of Wilkes-Barre, Pa. I have felt semi-decent since Saturday. My knees still hurt, but not to the degree that they have been. I noticed my joints have felt a bit better since last Tuesday, but then the headache(s) started back up. I have had a few day break like this about a month ago, but it didn't last too long. I have become rather pessimistic about the whole thing.

We do have a reason to be sad when we have this thing...it is a major drag.. I try to think tho that things could be worse.. I had a friend who lost a 2 yr old child and I thought ...what could be worse.....she lost another 2 yr old child ( inherited disease they did not know about or expect)...life can be wonderful .but oh soo scarry...I found writing poetry helped me a little to express my blues...singing the blues with close family members can be fun humorous and helpful!!!what ever ...Ok here's one

Just when I think I am going out somewhere

The dragon comes out and pulls my hair

Want to dance and do my thing

don't want the quiet time the dragon brings.......Chow Liz NJ

Greetings, Kirk!

When was the last time you saw the doctor? Have you had your meds evaluated lately? I'm just trying to think of ways to help. I had a situation just over a month ago where my pleuracy began coming back. The Dr opted to up my Prednisone intake and things got better.

I'd just like to encourage you to keep the faith, find ways to relax, get some meditation candles - anything to lift your spirits. There is a way through this! We just have to find it!

Stay strong, and God Bless!

Randal

Hi Kirk,

I'm glad you are going to try Enbrel. The only advice I have for you is...........don't expect too much too soon. It took over three months for me to get any relief and only because I added MTX to it. This combo seems to do it for me. I was very disappointed that I didn't feel great right away but plugged away twice a week until I was ready to give up. My Rheumatologist was trying to get me to add MTX and I didn't want to but finally gave in. I wish I could get off the MTX but I think it is the "kicker" in making me feel half way decent.

Good luck with the "poke" tomorrow. I still get quivers in my tummy when I have to do it. What site are you going to use? I "poke" in my stomach in an "X". Let's hear from you on your first try. It took me six trips to the nurses office. She told me I was the worse patient she ever tried to teach. I hope you do much better than me.

I have seen my PCP as recently as ten days ago, and I see my rheumatologist on June 7th. I finally get to see his nurse tomorrow, to learn how to use the Enbrel that has been in my refridgerator for a week.

I don't know if the headaches are related to my meds, as they were one of my primary symptoms. I don't think anyone (especially me) has a handle on this ******* disease I have yet, as I am in the same boat I was when it started in January, minus the "resort vacations" (hospital).

I had a slight headache yesterday, and a pretty beefy one that seems like it is getting worse today. I hope it doesn't, as it is already as much as I can sanely handle.

I do have two ways that really are effective for me to relax, but neither one is too feasable with a headache. My first is to go fishing. I have always loved fishing, especially for bass. My second is to crank the hell out of my stereo, and let the music alter my mood. I can't even think about that one with a bad headache, and usually can't do it unless the wife and kids are out for a couple of hours. Good music really loud sends chills down my spine, and never fails to put me in a good mood.

Later, and thanks for the reply Randall. Kirk.
