Guest guest
For the scientists, the official UK data for Naltrexone says- Pharmacodynamic properties- Naltrexone is a specific, high affinity, long acting competitive antagonist at opioid receptors. It has negligible opioid agonist activity. Tolerance does not develop with prolonged use. Pharmacokinetic properties- Naltrexone is rapidly absorbed after oral administration. It is metabolised by the liver and excreted primarily in the urine, less than 5% is excreted in the faeces. Naltrexone has an elimination half-life of four hours. The major metabolite 6-beta-naltrexol has an elimination half-life of 12.9 hours. This means that both 3 and 4.5 mg dose will be in the body for the same length of time. I have not found any scientific studies on LDN doses. Using different doses for different people is usual cos the human body is not a standard machine. We need a dose-response study for LDN. These are done by the pharma co before a drug is registered. I don't think this data exists for LDN. Without such data it is a matter of trial and error. I have not seen any research data if anyone has some please share it. Kind regards, Mark (Pharmacist from Oxford England0
