Guest guest
I fell off the wagon all last year 9after 3 challenges in 2001)! I got back on in January. I suggest re-reading the book. It has such great motivational things in it. Or watch the body of work videos if you have any of them. Write down your goals. Take before pics -- it still works. Enter the challenge officially (people who enter in June and send in their finished paperwork recieve a coupon for $150 in free supplements from EAS -- a GREAT bonus!). Guest guest
I fell off the wagon too (which is why I've been mostly lurking). See my before pics, that's where I am back to. I like the suggestion to re-read the book. I'm easing myself back into BFL. I think if I jolt myself into BFL " all or nothing, " I'll fall off again ... Versus building to BFL all the way. BTW, Just had my BF measurements taken - I'm back to a whopping 26.9%. That took courage to admit to 1,600 people. Now that's motivation. Guest guest
Hey and Jeff, I agree with Jen Blamey's advice, going back to the book is an excellent start. Let me just say from personal experience (having fallen off the wagon not too long ago myself) that you have to approach your recommitment as if you have never done it before. I think that " veteran " BFLers seem to think that since they have completed a few challenges, the rules don't really apply to them anymore. They can " fudge " the nutrition or the workouts a bit. You can't. Look at Sara.... she is a 3-year veteran and still follows BFL almost to the letter and she has continued to improve over the years since her 1st challenge. Go back to the basics. Treat yourself as a newbie. Read the book, write your goals down, set up your workouts, plan your nutrition. Get a Success Journal. Very valuable tool. You guys can do it!!! Guest guest
I started out at the same bf %. I am scared to see what I am back at. Anyhow just wanted to say thanks for those of you that replied. The advice is solid - Thanks! My gym bag is packed and I am scheduled to start off at a new gym in the am. > > I fell off the wagon too (which is why I've been mostly lurking). Guest guest
, As you can see you are not alone. I too fell off the wagon. It's been 2 years and I weigh more now than when I started the first challenge two years ago. I've tried to avoid the BFL experience by going to other various weightloss plans and have finally realized that this is the way I need to go. I need to commit to my health. I know how much work is involved in this program, let's face it it's hard. It's the hardest program I've ever done, but you know what I'm ready for the challenge. I'm finally ready to kick my own butt. And I'm excited about it. The funny thing is it's only day 3 and I already feel much, much better. I always wonder why it's so hard to get my butt off the couch and exercise because once it's done I feel so good. I too reread the book it helped me, I also bought the journal which is actually pretty good because it keeps me inline. Another book I read was called " Fitness is Religion " that pumped me up pretty good too. Good luck to you!! I know you've got it in you. Guest guest
On the bright side, think where you might be if you had not done BFL in the first place. You might be at 36.9%! We all know this works and it can work for the long term if we can make ourselves stick to the program. Too bad there isn't a pill we can take for motivation. Guest guest
I have to say I agree here. If you don't keep up with the nutrition and do all of the workouts, you will gain back the weight. Doing one or the other will not work. You have to do both. You don't have to do the exact weight workout in the book but you need to do something where you hit your 9-10s. You also need to hit 9-10s doing cardio. Andy > I think that " veteran " BFLers seem to think that since they have > completed a few challenges, the rules don't really apply to them > anymore.
