Betsy,

I almost always do my cardio in my neighborhood with a stop watch but sometimes

I end up doing it at the gym on a treadmill so I do know my speeds. I start out

at 3.8 as my level 5 (brisk stroll), 4.0 is my level 6 (fast walk), 4.4 is my

level 7 (very fast walk), 4.8 is my level 8 ( " power-walk " ), 5.8 is my level 9

(jog) and 8.0 is my level 10 (run).

Sara

Do you have any idea how fast you're walking at any

of those levels? I'm trying to maintain a pace that sounds like it's

somewhere around your 7 or 8, and that's generally about 4 mph.

Thanks,

Betsy

Sara,

I really am afraid to run due to my ankles abruptly going weak where I

actually lose my footing. So I walk fast with the use of the incline to

increase

intensity. My routine is usually:

Level 5 - Speed - 3.5/Incline - 6

Level 6 - Speed - 3.6/Incline - 7

Level 7 - Speed - 3.7/Incline - 8

Level 8 - Speed - 3.8/Incline - 9

Level 9 - Speed - 3.9/Incline - 10

Level 10 - Speed - 4.0/Incline - 12

I see in your routine you go all the way up to 4.8 as a power walk, where you

are still not running. I think I will try increasing the speed .2 increments

and keep my inclines the same and see how that goes.

E.g.,

Level 5 - Speed - 3.5/Incline - 6

Level 6 - Speed - 3.7/Incline - 7

Level 7 - Speed - 3.9/Incline - 8

Level 8 - Speed - 4.1/Incline - 9

Level 9 - Speed - 4.3/Incline - 10

Level 10 - Speed - 4.5/Incline - 12

I know I'll be sucking air by then!

Good to hear from you Ginger... Hayley now has antibiotics and is feeling great.  We had a broken pipe here.. heard gushing water.... fortunately we were able to turn just that area off so we still had water in the rest of the house.  My group from NH didn't bring any heavy clothes with them... Louisiana is usually in the 50-60's during the day... so these 22 degree lows and 37 degree highs have forced us inside,  Both girl's have done very well, both have lost 11 lbs since Tuesday.... I would love to lose 11 lbs!...

Betsy

Betsy,

You have your hands full ! So good to read the girls sleeves are done. I hope Holey is feeling better and no more seizures. I am trying to catchup today on all the news. Life is still a zoo here.

We have been cold here as well. Pipes were frozen at church this a.m. The buildings here are NOT wellinsulated at all.

Hayley had fever all day, but I think it has broken.... she had seizures once with high fever, so it was a little scary. and Helen have had their sleeves done . They used Dr Alvarez in Piedro Negro I think... near Eagle Pass TX. Both seem to be doing well and E will be here tomorrow. ..Certainly a short post surgery recovery...

> liquids for several weeks, then soft, etc. We are literally freezing.. coldest weather in 15 years. Not to mention the 26 inches of rain in December. Can't wait to understand this faceook stuff. Thanks

Sorry about the broken pipe ! The pipes were froze at church on Sunday, but they

did not burst... thank goodness. I just saw weather and we are supposed to be

back in the 50's by Weds. YEAH !

Glad Hayley is doing better. Sorry I butchered her name before. I was tired !

I would like to lose 11 pounds as well ! We are in the same boat.
