Hi Kirk,

Please don't slam that needle in your leg so hard! What if it breaks off?

I'm serious Kirk. Just reading about you telling how you slammed that needle

gave me the creeps! I was told not to jam the needle in. Is that really what

you do?

Does no one else have a problem with this? *Ouch!* Yucky, yuck, yuck.

Yes, I agree..stab the needle rather quick, but not like a hammer.

You're funny, . No.....my "x" is...one day, upper left........next time, upper right.........next time lower left and next time, lower right. Then I start all over again. I think someone once mentioned that he/she laid the needle on the skin and then gave it a little push. If I tried it that way, the needle would lie on my tummy for the rest of my life. I have to do the "dart" aim. Sometimes I get a black and blue mark at the injection site. Has any one else experienced that?

Relax Tricia, it isn't like I slam it "THAT" hard into my leg!!! I do stick it in fast, and I do believe what the nurse was cringing about was the way I was holding the needle. I have hands that are built like my body, short and thick. I also have very little feeling or sensitivity in my fingers as they have been burned, smashed, crushed and exposed to too many automotive oils and chemicals throughout the years. Therefore, I pretty much hold that small, little needle in a different way.

I gave myself my second injection this morning, and my wife sat there watching me step by step. She hates needles, and thinks I am nuts. I do, however think what I am doing is safe, as the needle goes in quick and painlessly. I don't "drive it in" that hard, at least I don't think I do.

Thanks for the concern though, Kirk.
