Guest guest
CONGRATULATIONS, Great Job! Keep up the good work, I also gave myself a " test " today. I have been running and running and didn't think I was getting any faster. I finally went to a course today and did sub 8 min. mile for 3 miles. I know it's not incredibly fast but I have been running 9 min miles. Next goal, 7:30 miles. Guest guest
SHOCK AND AWESOME! No, I'm not surprised. I'm slowly increasing my weights or reps each workout and it is tough! I feel like I'm making really really slow progress. I now have 4, 1 1/4 Platemates so I can increase 2 1/2 lbs and this has really helped me make progress. My bench press and curl have been the slowest to increase. I'm afraid if I added much more weight, I'd notice it and there would be no way I could complete the set. Andy P.S. Your quote from Shawshank redemption was in our paper tonight as a favorite quote of one of the players for the Mid-Missouri Mavericks baseball team. > Guess what I did today!!? > Go ahead, guess!! > > I finally bench pressed 135 Pounds today!!! wooohooo!! That's been a goal for a LOOOOOOONG time (Ask Brett.. he knows!) and I finally hit it. I finally started thinking that it was all mental. In the bench press comp, I couldn't get up 115# (although I'd done it a couple hours earlier), and then go work out and push 115# for several reps. > > I got to thinking about the plates and what was scaring me was the 45# plates. I could put 25# plates on with no issue, and slowly work my way up... and every time I went in I was saying to myself " that's only 5# from a 35# plate " and then I did that without thinking about it, then I did the same for the 45#'s. > > Mike, who works up there, spotted me, and he's got such a great personality, we talk all the time about gym stuff, life stuff, etc. he said " This is gonna be cool to see a chick do this " which gave me an ego rush!! lol. He said I had another one in me, but I was too scared to try. Guest guest
Actually, my platemates are 5/8 lb each. I did well enough this morning on bicep curls to up the weight next time! I'll be upping the poundage on several lifts. I was looking back at my bench press and for the workout I am doing, I've upped it 6 1/4 lbs since March which I decided isn't that bad. but recently I've been stuck at the same weight for the press.
