Guest guest
I do not solely participate in any one sport. I enjoy lifting heavy weights and the effect it has on my physique. I have participated in powerlifting, Strongman and am planning to compete in a natural bodybuilding show. My personal experience in training is that I add more muscle mass using basic powerlifting programmes rather than typical routines used by amateur bodybuilders. My original post was to ascertain the opinion of group members as to a possible course for my training to further muscular hypertrophy. (i.e continue with what has worked in the past.) Or one suggestion I was given by Professor Cardinale was to continue with my basic programme for two weeks, on the third week for each exercise use forced repetitions for 4-6 reps and finish the 4 week mesocycle by two training days using exercises such as cleans, snatch and squats with a load of 50-60% 1RM and complete 6 reps at maximum speed. The concept behind his suggestion was to progress over a course of 16 weeks in 4 mesocycles oscillating in intensity rather than always increasing intensity in a linear fashion (as I always have). And the use of training at maximum speed to enhance the growth or conversion to type II fires.
