Guest guest
Dear friends, Just thought I'd update things in my life since a few weeks ago. The stepmother is out of ICU. She was able to be weaned off of the breathing machine only as of last week. She is still being fed by a tube in her stomach, and needs a *lot* of rehabilitation. She was taken to a nursing home 2 days ago. From what I heard, the nurses at the hospital couldn't stand her anymore. I feel sorry for the people working at the nursing home. My dad already demanded she be put in a different room twice, as those rooms were...too cold. I love my dad, and tolerate the stepmother...but, they are just about the pickiest (I want it now! etc.) people I know. My mom and the Altzheimer's is about the same. She did call me 4 times this morning to ask what day it is, and what the date is. I did finally say...write it down this time, and told her I loved her anyway. Seems my right ankle is "freezing" on me. I can wriggle the toes, but can not rotate the foot without manually using the left hand to do so. No wonder I have such difficulty getting my western boots on! Will have to see what if anything can be done about that. Otherwise, I'm doing okay....except the left elbow still isn't healed and it looks like I may have to have a screw put in it. I wonder if it's because when I was supposed to keep that splint on, I took it off to sweep snow off the porch, fold clothes, and a few other things? Am having a lot of severe pain in both ankles too. Dennis (my husband) overdid it yesterday trying to unpug the sink drains. He got up on the roof of the house and kept trying to push the "snake" thing through...and he would use all of his strength to wham it. Well, now he is short of breath, and coughing, and I'm afraid either the blood clot(s) in his right lung have moved, or there's another one. He was *not* supposed to exert himself in any way until maybe June. We called a plumber friend, and he worked on it for 2 hrs. this morning and voila! Can do dishes again! He only charged $30. The "kitten" someone dumped off a few weeks ago...is tiny...but older than we thought. She had about 4 days of being in heat...now we are wondering (don't know much about cats..and going to look "cats" on the internet when I finish this.) if possibly she was thrown off because some male cat has already mated with her. Have attached a picture of her. Hoping you are all having a good day! Wisconsin, tricia p.s. I sent a snail mail to Dave from Florida last week, no word from him yet. If I don't hear anything in a month, I will sent a note to his mom and ask about him. Has anyone heard from him?? I am concerned, as he was very sick.
