Guest guest
Hello. I had just turned 18 years old and am a Karate fanatic and have therefore designed a plan to increase my strength and speed in Karate by wearing various weighted speed enhancers. Some time ago, I started wearing a pair of 5 lbs weighted gloves with 5 lbs ankle weights. After a few months of regular wear (such as while attending college and doing household chores) I quickly became used to the weight. I then upgraded to a 50 lbs weighted vest, and after adapting to that weight, added 6 more pounds to my arms and another 5 lbs to my legs. I am curious as to whether or not this is safe (the instruction guide and relevant articles say that it is okay since the weight is evenly distributed) but I would like to upgrade to another 50 lbs on my vest and perhaps even more weight on my forearms and thighs. I don't experience any pain when wearing these weights all day (just tired) but this may have some serious consequences on my back in my later years. Could someone please tell me if what I'm doing is safe?
