does your insurance pay for casting?

I need some help here.

The doctor bills two procedure codes for each casting: one is for

application of body cast, the other is manipulation of spine under

general anesthesia.

Our insurance does not allow 'manipulation of spine under general

anesthesia', which they say is experimental or not medically

necessary/effective. (Baloney!)

Does anyone have insurance that is paying for this procedure? What

code is your doc using? What insurance company do you have? If we can

demonstrate that other carriers cover it, we may get the policy changed.

We've provided all sorts of information, from Mehta's article to

letters from our doc to Todd's xrays and measurements showing that this

procedure IS necessary and effective, but to no avail.

I'd appreciate any suggestions or info on this!

Thanks,

, Mommy to Todd
