Guest guest
My 11 year old daughter was just diagnosed with a candida yeast infection. Her count was extremely high and one of the main things we can do to help fight off this infection is to put her on a very strict diet. She has a mild allergy to milk and wheat, but is very allergic to eggs. The diet is a sugar free, gluten free, yeast free and vinegar free diet, which pretty much leaves it to meat and vegetables with a little bit of fruit, since fruit contains natural sugar, and some whole grains, gluten free of course. I'm feeling a little overwhelmed right now with it, trying to wrap my head around it all. Meats and veggies are easy to come up with, but she needs more than that. I cook a lot, but for some reason, the overall diet seems so daunting. I know we need to do it, and I know we will see some changes in her. She functions at about a 2 year old level, is low to non-verbal, so she can't tell me what's going on or how she's feeling. I guess I just need some encouraging words from anyone that has done this diet with their child. I know that a gluten free, casien free diet is common with autism, but this diet seems to go a step further than that. Any advice, encouragement, or recipes would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for listening!
