Guest guest
Hello Everyone, I have had MS for a little over a year now and have been doing fairly well with my attacks. I have been on Betaseron ever since I was diagnosed and have had about 5 attacks one just recently. I am in construction and one of my homeowners has MS and has been taking LDN for 5 years and has had no progression of the disease. I have tried to get my doctor to prescribe LDN but he won't budge and I am trying to find a doctor that will. I live in burg Pennsylvania and was wondering if anyone knows a doctor that I can go to close to get a prescription. I appreciate any help. Guest guest
Welcome , I am so glad that someone has shared with you that LDN exists. My husband is from New Jersey, but he has been in California now for 23 years. He has had symptoms of MS now for about 7 months. The first evening that he took LDN, the next day he worked a full day, where he had been quitting everyday at about 1pm and going home to rest. LDN seems to halt progression in most MS people, but the symptom relief is hit and miss. The symptoms that it helped with my husband are fatigue, fine motor skills and bladder urgency. He still has tingling and numbness. I strongly recommend you start on 3mg and have your prescription filled at either Irmat pharmacy in New York, or at Skips in Bocca Rattan Florida. They both know what they are doing. The most important aspects of LDN are getting the amount right for your individual body (most men do best on 3mg and most woman do best on 4.5mg.). The second thing is making sure that the filler that the pharmacy uses works for you (Doctor Bihari recommends lactose). There are some side effects associated with LDN but they usually go away within the first few weeks. They are usually vivid dreams, stiffness in the legs and some other minor items. My husband had no side effects at all, but he did have to change from 4.5mg down to 3mg because he started to feel new areas of tingling and numbness. Once he got the dosage right he was fine. I think you will find that taking supplements and changing your diet will make a huge difference for other items associated with MS. If you want a list of what is taking and what they have helped with, just let me know. I have made a list of doctors that prescribe LDN. I did this by adding names from chatters on this site. The list is very disorganized but you might find a doctor that is close to where you are. Just look through the list. If you can't find anyone near you, then there are 2 doctors that might do a phone consultation with you. Dr. Bihari in New York, or Dr. Bradford S. Weeks from Washington. They are both wonderful doctors and they are on the list that I am attaching. I wish the best to you. You are in good hands with this chat site. We all work hard to share our experiences and we have some very intelligent free thinkers involved.
