Hi! The loss of control of the rectal sphincter

muscle was the first and most horrifying of my MS

symptoms. (Imagine a librarian helping patrons in the

Indianapolis School System Teachers Library to include

all administrators who is walking around with no

control of gas! The physiologist at Texas A & M who was

doing Hyperbaric Oxygen research told me MS targets

certain muscles--back and stomach. I'll add sphincter.

Now I'm fighting diarrhea since last July's hospital

overnight. LDN seems to help slowly. Am about to try

White Oak bark tea. Blackberry root tea more work, but

in yard. Embarrassing but not overwhelming! Time to

get tough! Best, shylotz

The best thing that has worked for me is using at least 2 tablespoons of crushed flax seed oil in with my morning hot cerial. Also, it is very good to drink a lot of water.

Really would appreciate some help on this.

Thanx a bunch,

Angie ;)

In women, weakened pelvic-floor muscles are often the result of childbirth or a surgical operation.

In both sexes, stretching of pelvic-floor nerves goes hand in hand with the Western habit of sitting on the toilet for a bowel motion rather than squatting the way all primitive peoples have done and some peoples still do. When we sit to defaecate, a kink in the rectum (that prevents bowel incontinence) remains kinked, tending to produce constipation. Straining to overcome this resistance day after day, year after year, stretches pelvic-floor nerves.

I am sorry this is happening to you, this is very complicated, does the above apply. Have you had children, have you had lots of the constipation, is your stool hard.

I would work on soothing the intestines, I would work on bacteria, I would work on relaxing muscle, I would work on repairing nerves, this will take a while, it will not be a comfortable task. You may want to read my friends book, this happens quite often when people suffer with the illness like multiple sclerosis his book can be found at http://www.copingandprevailing.com/coping3review.html or you can contact Tom directly at tbayuk@...

Hi, Shirley,

Someone told me they handled their bowel incontinence with a rx they got from their doc for a drug called 'Glyxolax,' which came out in 2004.
