Guest guest
Hi Karin, Kathy`s massage suggestion sounds good! I have a further suggestion which I believe would be of significant help to anyone who is able to use it: -Are you able, (with help if necessary!) to lie on your back on a reasonably firm surface? This is what is necessary in order to benefit from a Sun Ancon Chi Machine. I have had one for 2 years now & it`s great! -For the first year I don`t think that I missed using it on more than one or two days, I was so keen to maximise the beneficial effects that I was prone to over use it rather than under use it. It`s a very much appreciated part of my daily routine, it makes me feel so much better! (- & my legs more functional. After using it, things feel so much more pleasant that I often find myself going on to do a significantly longer & more thorough yoga/ exercise routine than I had previously intended!) A Chi Machine is a passive exerciser, it oxygenates the body & improves the lymph circulation. It also realigns the whole body & is thus can also helpful in rehabilitation after injury & such like: It speeds up & makes more complete the healing process. -Once you are in position, all you have to do is lie there, relax & enjoy! It relaxes & loosens things up wonderfully. (It must be triggering endorphins, I imagine!) It`s about the size of a large shoe box, on top of which there is a piece with two "U-U" shapes in which you place your ankles. This top piece moves from side to side, (about 1.5 - 2 inches) this movement is transmitted up the whole body, right up to the top of the head, effortlessly & pleasantly loosening up everything. It`s great! Whether one is able bodied or incapacitated or somewhere between the two: (-Like me, with two sticks.) -I also have a Hothouse, an infrared "sauna" thingy, (This is in the shape of an inverted U -a bit like a cloche for a person!), from the same company, this is pleasant to use, but it`s nothing like as important to me as is the Chi Machine. -Hope that this is some use to you.............. (I really believe it might be.) Best Wishes! Gerald [low dose naltrexone] Need some advice Hi all, I really need some sound advice as I am having an increasingly painful problem with this. I am confined to a wheel chair and my legs are becoming frozen in the sitting bent position, My sleep is very uncomfortable since I am stuck in one position all night long and unable to move. My legs are contracting all night long which is extremely painful, last night I got a total of 1 hr of sleep. I don't know if it's because of lack of sleep, but I'm really becoming depressed and feeling like I stand no chance of ever getting out of this damn chair or relieving some of the pain. When I bring this up to the neuro he wants me to get the Baclofen pump (the pills aren't working so why would I want to go this route). I have been taking Valerian, muscle ease, poppy seed with not a whole lot of help. I am also on the dreaded Baclofen and Zanaflex w/no help. Does anyone have any ideas? Has anyone heard of anybody in as bad of condition who has gotten leg movement back and some range of motion?
