When you do each set of reps, how do you measure the degree of intensity for you? I consider the first rep a warm-up and see it as a level 5. By level 8 I am putting out good efort. By level 9 I am wondering if I can get thru a whole level 10. By level 10, I feel about done by rep#6 but keep pushing. So Rep 7 - 12 is taking all I've got. How does that compare with you? The protein bars do sound too high in sugar. I actually use a bar that is sweetened with Splenda rather than sugar. I keep my protein/carbs balanced at about 20/20 per meal. Welcome aboard...and questions are always welcome. Kelley Free Week
Guest guest
, When I started BFL in Jan. 2000, the book recommended three shakes or bars per day. So did the helpline. I did that and had wonderful results. Yes, there is a lot of sugar in the Myoplex Lite bars but probably a whole lot less sugar than whatever you were consuming before BFL. The point I want to get across is not to dismiss them totally...they really did work for me. Sara Also, I ordered a box of Myoplex lite bars to use as two of my meal replacements while I'm at work, but I noticed that each bar has 16g of sugar and like 27g of carbs, is that fine? That's another thing I'm confused on, if I'm not supposed to eat sugar during my week, is that going to be counter productive?
Guest guest
I say whatever works and you have to do whatever will help you stick with the program. If that is eating bars for some meals works, that is great. I'm not going to feel guilty about eating bars anymore either. For me it is easier to not feel guilty when they taste as good as the Detour bar. Andy > , > > YES! I ate three whole meal foods a day and usually 2 Myoplex Lite shakes and 1 bar or vice versa. I did that for a long, long time. Like almost two years! > > Sara
