There are windows in the room but I never sit with direct sunlight on me for more than a few minutes. I get most of my direct sun by being stuck in the car as I drive about with the AC on all times of year. I thought that the recommendation (by Dr. Mercola) was to actually sit outside with as much skin exposed as possible in order to absorb the sun. Otherwise we aren't really getting any Vitamin D. That is why it is suggested that for those of us in the northern climes are suppose to use cod liver oil (for vit D) in the fall and winter and regular Fish oil (doesn't have vit D) in the summer. Sitting inside (no matter how bright it is) does not allow for vit D absorption. Is this the understanding of others? Arlene
Guest guest
ARLENE, I DON'T MEAN TO SIT INSIDE BUT IN THE SHADE YOU ARE STILL GETTING SUNLIGHT AND NOT AGGRAVATING MS IF HEAT IS AN ISSUE. IF IT ISN'T AN ISSUE THEN BY ALL MEANS YOU CAN LAY IN THE SUN. YOU STILL GET VITAMIN D BY BEING IN THE SHADE. HAVEN'T YOU NOTICED YOU CAN TAN IN THE SHADE? WHEN YOU ARE IN A CAR YOU GET SUN AS WELL. MY DAD USE TO DRIVE A TRUCK FOR HOURS AND HIS ONE SIDE WAS TANNED.
