I have never seen vitamin K in a US health food store, either. The only

place I have ever heard of it being used is in hospitals, where it is

given to people who are bleeding in certain circumstances. It tends to be

used for people who have taken too much coumadin or received too much

intravenous heparin. Both drugs are so-called blood thinners. Vitamin K

is found in green vegetables, especially brocolli. And I just did a quick

google search and found a couple of places where you can buy it on the

internet, but I still have never seen it for sale in a health food store.

(Maybe I just go to the wrong health food stores...)

I heard also that vit K is important also. My husband tried to buy

it

from a health food store but apparently it is illegal to sell in

Canada

and can only get it from a physician?

Yeah, that was one of the things I found in my google search. It seems

like I've seen the Swanson brand in health food stores, but I still have

never seen Vitamin K in health food stores around here. Maybe that's just

another one of the many ways in which New Mexico is sort of a backwards

kind of place. Haha! I've also found tryptophan for sale online, and I

know that's still illegal to sell in health food stores. No good reason

for that, but it has been since that huge scare with eosinophilia myalgia

about 15 or 20 years ago. Maybe there's something similar keeping Vitamin

K off the shelves in stores, who knows?

Personally, I think the drug companies are somehow behind it (always

suspicious of them :() so that things like didrocal and other crap will

be purchased!
