Amazing what one dose will do to lessen the anxiety. Have you ever had your magnesium checked? I have read that blood levels are not as accurate as cellular levels, but when I asked a dr. to check - I forgot the name of the test he sort of laughed at me. I do feel much better when I take it.I guess my question is do we with PA need to have all our minerals checked regularly? 40 yo WF, 5 kids, Marine Corps wife, Ladenoma producing aldo, diagnosed 2007, HTN since 2004To: hyperaldosteronism Sent: Thu, April 21, 2011 3:13:21 PMSubject: Re: PA and Anxiety Anxiety was a part of my life it seemed until I started taking magnesium along with the K. Many sources said we lose one we lose the other (of course mag is not routinely tested) and that mag "seems" to help with anxiety. Didn't hurt to try and whether in my head or not (there's a lot of room there) it has visibly helped. BUT.......so has DASH and spiro...so is it that or THAT? I know anxiety is way down Subject: PA and AnxietyTo: "PA Yahoo Group" <hyperaldosteronism >Date: Thursday, April 21, 2011, 1:47 PM Why does PA seems to spike anxiety disorders? Is it the Aldo causing it? Long before I was diagnosed my Doc kept telling me I had GAD. I went to see a head doc before a big test at Mayo and he told me I had Obsessive Compulsive and GAD. I am like Duhhhhhh. If you are facing a possible life threating diagnois, isnt that to be expected. That was the whole point of going to see him was to work through the anxiety and perhpas ease it a bit. Was a waste of time. I was never really much of a worrier until my PA symptoms arrived. I am just curious on what the connection is, if any. ============================================================================45-Male-Caucasian, 5'9"- 230lbs, PA Diagnosed 2007 Suspected Hyperplasia-No tumors on CT - No AVS.Meds: 50mg Spiro, 25mg HCTZ, 40meg Potassium, 2400mg Calcium, 1000mg Magnesium, 100,000UI Vit D (weekly), 40mg OmeprazoleSide effects: Gynecomastia, stomach inflammationOther Diags: GERD, Hiatal Hernia, Metabolic Syndrome - PreDiabetic, Secondary Hyperparathyroidism caused by Renal calcium leak, Bone Cyct in left Femoral Head and Pelvis.
