when asking of those on the spectrum often many can answer factually

the who the what, the when, the where but when it comes to why.....

Why is of a very abstract and we often do not have of a ability to

use of theory of mind to answer with a why?

it isof like of the child is of to spill of the milk ( this is of an

odd sample but is of good to use) if you asked who spilled the milk

the child can answer that factually it is of a known.... if you asked

what did you spill that too is of a factual response of milk and is

of a known.... if asked when did you spill it they might answer which

meal or by some means or clues as to when it happened by going back

to memory of facts... and if asked where did you spill of the milk

the person again can answer it because it is of factual and if you

ask of how did you spill teh milk again they can go to facts of it...

but if asked why did you spill the milk there will be of no

response ... because that question may not have an answer.....because

for one , one usually spills something by accident so there was no

intent behind it. and for people of autism since many struggle to

abstract and theory of mind we may not have a response to the why

beause we may not have a logical intent or awareness of why we do

things we just sometimes impulsively do them and or if we do have an

intent we may not have of the words to respond to others of our

internal logic. such as the child who wanted to have of her sibling

try to eat tree sap? she may of had a logic behind of it but unable

to respond to the WHY did you do it? or how would you feel if this

was done to you.... if it had never been done to her she cannot go to

factual places of memory to reflect a response from so she may not

really know of how it will feel to her.

much of life once had of words and could do back and forth if asked

of things could really only reflect or respond to factual things from

my memory and could not respond in abstract things or to infer or

visualize or what ever words one uses to express self of going

outside of the factual parts of memory.

But now as adult can reflect more of a response if the words or

visual for me to be of able to think more profoundly to a thing. such

as being of able to respond to much of the words to many of the list

it is of mostly from experiences and exposures to things that I to be

of able to respond and or from things i to read and or heared from

others or seen of the TV and or things this is of stored into mass

files in my brain and one trigger word can open a file stored with

much and then can ramble them out. but if asked verbally why I to did

of something at the time I to did of it the known of it might not be

of known.
