Guest guest
the diarrhea likely had dehydrated you somewhat so the low BP in this context even with the K is perfectly understandable and not surprising at all. > > >Thought I would drop in and share my experience in the last week. My stomach problems got better for the first two weeks after taking the Align Pro biotic to only worsen after two weeks. Last Sunday I was in ER with right flank pain and potassium was 4.1. From Sunday to Wednesday my stomach worsened and I had almost constant diarrhea. After having the chills and having it feel like someone was squeezing my stomach I went back to ER Wednesday night. My white blood cell count was high which I guess means I am fighting an infection which made them admit me and perform another chest x ray and also did a CT Scan of my abdomen. My K had also dropped to 3.3 from Sunday's 4.1 most likely due to all the diarrhea. I was there for 48 hrs and had an endoscopy done of my stomach as well as a colonoscopy and another IV drip of K which I hate with all the fibers in my body. All tests so far have not revealed anything life shattering. I am still waiting on biopsies to rule out coitus and Crohn's. If those come back normal they said they would treat me for Irritable Bowel Syndrome. So needless to say I am feeling deflated again. > >Does anyone else suffer from IBS? They prescribe me Dicycoline I believe to take before each meal and continue with the pro biotic. > >*The good news *was an ENDO that was visiting from the Cleveland Clinic who specializes in PA and I got to speak with her. Although my regular ENDO has been cautious to diagnosis me with PA she agreed with Dr. Grim that I do have Primary Aldosteronism. She does not feel that Spiro is causing my stomach problems which is why I reached out to the group a couple of weeks ago. She prefers Spiro over Inspira due to cost, not quite as effective at keeping K in place and and hardly any side effects according to her. The worst complaint comes from men and the man boobs which many on this forum have mentioned. So she suggested I don't change anything...meds, dosage or diet and that once I get my stomach under control all will be well again as I have been stable for 6 good months. > >Someone on here asking about HTN increasing when K tanks. This is the first time my HTN was normal during low K.
