Ginny maybe total strangers who lack knowing autism might and often do stare

much so at us because they fear what they do not understand.

but since I to know of autism I to so much would come and be of near and let of

you know I to have of autism too and understand and try to help of you

de-escalate of the emotional state going in a way respectful to you. you biting

would not make of me see you as bad I to be of would see it as major

frustrations of not being of able at the moment to communicate. I to would never

see of you in a negative way.

Question though when you bite is of it breaking of the skin and causing

bleeding?

Thank you, Ginny and Sondra, for enlightening me with regard to why you bite

youself. My daughter bites her arm when she's frustrated and sometimes when she

is very excited. Your words helped me understand my daughter better.

If I were around you and you saw me bite my hand making a terrible noise.

Because my mom is irritated when I do that and it is hard for her to listen as

you might tell from that poem. How would you feel.....would it be hard for you

to listen.....would it make you not want to be around me?

My daughter also bites her arm as well. Often times she is not angry

or frustrated that I can tell, but I wonder if it is a sensory issue?

Thank you Ginny and Sondra for posting on the list about your

feelings and thoughts, as it really does help me learn to view things

from my daughters point of view since she is non-verbal. She is 5

1/2. I wish very much that I could communicate better with her.

Thanks again for your postings, they are so helpful!
