Special Education Due Process Hearing Open to the Public in Coppell, TX

(D/FW area)

A real special education due process hearing against Coppell Independent

School District is scheduled for November 8th and 9th in Coppell, TX at 9:00

a.m. This hearing will be open to the public and the media. The location

has not been confirmed since a neutral location has been requested by the

parents. If no neutral location is determined, the hearing will be at the

Coppell ISD Administration Building at 200 S. Denton Tap Road in Coppell.

We will update with any changes. The hearing could very well last more than

the two days that are currently scheduled due to the complexity of the

complaint.

This is an opportunity for all parents to observe a due process hearing and

gain an understanding of exactly what is involved. This meeting will be

open because we as the parents feel that the public needs to understand the

process and know what is going on. Come even if only for a portion of the

hearing. A little bit goes a long way and we appreciate everyone's support.

We are doing this for our child's rights and for all the parents and

children in this district and other district's. This process can be scary

and difficult. We hope an open hearing will empower other parents and allow

you to benefit from our experience so we all become better advocates.
