OT - Sulphites in whitened potatoes

Hi all,

I eat potatoes or rice about once a week. We recently worked out that

my occasional allergic reactions are to whitened potatoes (the whitener

stops the potato going brown and is commonly used when potatoes are

prepared in advance of cooking) ... it turns out that potato whitener is

a sulphite (!!)

My reactions are unusual - fingers, toes and nose get hot and red.

Recently my neck became itchy also. It's a generally unpleasant

sensation.

I believe quite a few ASD people have a problem with sulphites and it's

not obvious that whitened pototoes contain sulphites.
