Guest guest
Hi Majidha, I had a family member living with me--adult, NT, mercury toxic, with really, really bad gut issues. DMSA was terrible for him. Within a few doses he'd be having stomach pain and other problems. He clearly needed chelation so I switched him to td-DMPS and oral ALA combo and it was easier on him. The ALA still caused some few problems but far less than DMSA. We use the td-dmps from Cenaverde. It's expensive, but TA members get a discount. If things are really bad, you can also make homemade td ala. If you're not interested in using the dmps, I would try just the ala. Some supps that can help with gut problems are slippery elm, but it can't be given on round. It can help between rounds though and according to the family member, relief from it can be pretty quick. Anita > > Hi All > We are into round 5 of AC chelation and my son Aadam is not doing too well. > -On the first 3 rounds I gave him 8.25 mg dmsa(1/8 mg per pound of body weight for him)but had to stop as he was having really bad tummy pain, worsening of constipation, soiling himself at school after a round, stimming, hyperactivity+++ etc) > We took a 3 week break and started again last weekend. > He is now only on 4mg dmsa and whilst the problems we had are not as pronounced,he is still clearly in a lot of discomfort(currently lying face down on sofa with a big cushion on his tummy and persistantly complaining of tummy pain, tummy very bloated too-I dont know if I did the right thing but I gave him some pain relief. > question- > Should I stop dmsa altogether next weekend/give more frequent rounds/lower the dose further or go ahead and just chelate with ala. > Bit confused as with Aadam abdominal pain has always been down to bowel loading but his bms are the best they " ve been in a while(attribute this to increasing antifungals, probios etc). > tia > majidha >
Guest guest
Hi, It sounds like quite a high dose you started with. I started my son on 3mg of DMSA for his first 4 rounds as it takes them a while to get used to it. Have you thought of dropping the dose. You have plenty of time to up the dose in future rounds. Guest guest
Hi Majidha Chelation sometimes caused severe stomach pain and reflux at our home. OLE resolves it for us. It took about half a day for it to improve but currently we don’t have any stomach discomfort or reflux chelating. we use OLE on and off round. We started with one drop and worked up to 1 ml over several months. I hope your son feels better soon. Jess
Guest guest
Hi Kirsty I did drop the dose from 8.25 mg for the first three rounds to 4mg for the last two rounds-maybe I should reduce further? Guest guest
Hi Jess thanks for the info on OLE. Ive only ever used it in the past in a capsule form-I was wondering where you get it in liquid form? tia majidha > > Hi Majidha > > > > Chelation sometimes caused severe stomach pain and reflux at our home. Guest guest
Hi Anita I will try just ala next round and see how he gets on with that. I do have some td dmps(havent used it yet)but will leave this for a later round,so I can see the effect of each chelator thanks for your advice majidha.x > > > > Hi All > > We are into round 5 of AC chelation and my son Aadam is not doing too well. > > -On the first 3 rounds I gave him 8.25 mg dmsa(1/8 mg per pound of body weight for him)but had to stop as he was having really bad tummy pain, worsening of constipation, soiling himself at school after a round, stimming, hyperactivity+++ etc) > > We took a 3 week break and started again last weekend. > > He is now only on 4mg dmsa and whilst the problems we had are not as pronounced,he is still clearly in a lot of discomfort(currently lying face down on sofa with a big cushion on his tummy and persistantly complaining of tummy pain, tummy very bloated too-I dont know if I did the right thing but I gave him some pain relief. > > question- > > Should I stop dmsa altogether next weekend/give more frequent rounds/lower the dose further or go ahead and just chelate with ala. > > Bit confused as with Aadam abdominal pain has always been down to bowel loading but his bms are the best they " ve been in a while(attribute this to increasing antifungals, probios etc). > > tia > > majidha > > >
