Guest guest
Regina - thanks. Even one or two glasses per week will make this thing more bearable! cynthy
Guest guest
What I remember from the article was that your body would burn the alcohol before it would burn other fuels, such as food, stored fat or (hopefully not) stored muscle. I'm not certain that is true, but any fuel you put in your body needs to get used to build muscle, build fat, release energy.... Not certain where the alcohol goes, but it goes somewhere. My guess is NOT muscle. Glenn ----- Original Message ----- Sent: Thursday, January 09, 2003 2:23 PM > Also, it doesn't take much alcohol to slow or reverse fat loss and muscle > growth. Anybody want to help me move on Monday??? leigh fl > I loaned out my BFL book - and I can't remember what it says about drinking > wine. Is it ok? Don't have a drinking problem.........just curious! > > cynthy > > >
Guest guest
Cynthy, Save it for Free Day. No kidding. You will hinder your muscle- building/fat-loss efforts with even a few glasses per week. Your body preferentially burns alcohol before carbs, then fat and/or protein because your body is designed to clear toxins from the system before any other functions occur (this is why you need to sleep alot when you have the flu, your body is clearing out the germy toxins from your system). In other words, until you burn off every iota of alcohol you take in, you won't be burning a single scrap of fat. And that goes for every single time you drink anything alcoholic. That means if you have a glass of wine with dinner on Tuesday and Saturday, and then you take a Free Day (and drink alcohol then too) that you have effectively shut down (or at least impaired) your fat- burning machine for 3 out of 7 days, instead of 1 out of 7 days if you just take a Free Day. I don't know about you, but I sure would prefer not to negate all my hard work over a few glasses of wine. Yes, you have to make this program " for LIFE " but you also have to be realistic about what will get you the best results. ly, I don't care that Bill says it's okay to drink a glass of wine here and there. If you want a rock-star body, you have to make some sacrifices along the way.
