Dory - My five things to do every day are very similar to Bill

example in the book, for example:

1. Drink 1 gallon water, 2. My workout, 3. 6 meals properly combined, 4.

Journal, Read my goals, visualize what outcome I want and plan the next day,

5. This is where I usually put in a household or family task that I want to

get done that I'm avoiding. I'm a stay-at-home mom and hate the cleaning

side of my job. I've divided up our house/laundry into 5 sections and have

to hit one a day. It's helping me a lot because I'm slowly becoming a " body

in motion. "

On the Universal Laws of Reciprocation section I've been using one of his

examples that I come on here every day, check in, send some encouragement and

positive energy back out into the BFL community (and in return gain valuable

advice and support for myself). Then my other " to do " on that list is to do

two things that keep me in touch with my family and friends that I use as my

general support group in life. We live away from all on my side of the

family and a daily " reaching out " will connect me to them a little more.

That's my scoop. The journal has kept me on track and it's only Day 10. I

can't imagine how forceful the power mindset habit will be by Day 84 and

beyond in my life.

I don't think it has to be complicated. I told my husband last night I'll

probably drop the water as a task on my list off at the start of Week 3

because it's becoming a no-brainer for me and then can put it back on if I

start to stumble.

Thanks for asking! -- A.

Hi Dory!

I'm not Jen but will throw in my 2 cents anyway. My 5 things each

day are largely repetitive - but that's ok. If you had to think of 5

new things each day it would drive you nuts. Plus this program is

built on just a few simple principals and if that's what you're

concentrating on each day - that's all you need.

Here's mine for today:

1) Give 100% on my workout.

2) Get my water in.

3) Keep the nutrition clean.

4) Remember to take my supplements (I always forget in the evening)

5) Take some time to stretch (one of my goals is to improve my

flexibility)

Hope that helps!

Okay. That sounds very practical. I have just called and Noble and

had a journal put on hold for me. Why not?! Sounds like a great way to kee

it all together and keep it flowing!

Hi JenB,

and Noble has it $18.95. Maybe I should get two. I love things that

provide me with structure and guidelines. I'm too easily overwhelmed with

the gazillion things going on in my life at all times. Listening to the CD

this morning really reminded me about how much of BFL happens in the mind

long before it happens in the material. Helps me get the hitch out-a my

giddy-up.

Not trying to really make a plug here for any particular store, however, you

might also want to try your local Walmart. My husband got me the journal for

my birthday in Dec. and paid close to $25 for it at B & N. I saw it yesterday

for $17 and change at Walmart.

This has been an interesting thread. :) Kelley, I know you are not

a newbie and thought I would reply to your comment first. I bought a

Success Journal for my mom for Xmas and figured what the heck I'll

get one for me too. Now, I have been training my mom for about a

year and 1/2 and I have been doing BFL for 2 1/2 years, and we both

LOVE this journal! So, it's not just for newbies, it seems to be

really helping both my mom and I too.

I'm planning to buy a new one when this challenge is over. I really

think it is a great idea and a wonderful tool to help keep you on

track with your program.

Also, along the lines of what to write on the 5-things-to-do... I

write the same thing every day until I have written " success! " next

to it for one week solid (except the workouts, I always write those

down) and then I think up something new. If I miss a day somewhere

in there, I have to start over on my one week rule before I can make

up a new to-do. That way it's permanently ingrained in my head.

Also, if you have to come up with some new stuff (but not too often)

then your mind is staying focused when you are reading the daily

goals. If it's the same 5 things for weeks on end, you will stop

really reading it (you already know what it says!) and stop

challenging yourself in new ways. JMNSHO.

OK, not to sound uninformed here, but what exactly am I paying for if

and when I buy this journal???? Is it worth it? Explain:)))

My first question on lifting 4 days a week is how much time are you getting

per group for rest? Are you doing the day 1 upper, day 2 lower, day 3 upper,

or did you break up whole body in to 4 workouts? Do you get at least 48 hrs

between the time you work a muscle and you work it again? If not you're

probably over training.

Lots of people do extra cardio, so there isn't a lot to worry about there

unless you are suffering from lowered performance/energy levels. If so you

may be over training.

Try amazon.com. You can look at 9 sample pages. I haven't purchased

it either.

Hi Jodie,

I really love the SJ. I am not as consistent writing in it as I would like

to be. Guess I haven't really committed to that part yet. But it does

support the planning that I do that doesn't get written down: meals,

workouts, mind set. I love reading the stories and Bill's Inspirations.

I found a picture of someone with my body type...Day 79 ( ). That

is exactly what my midsection looks like. She lost 15 pounds of body fat

which is my goal exactly. So I can now look at the before and after to help

me visualize my better, healthier self.

Good luck Bert on BFL transformation.I have been involved with program for

several years and find these things helpful: Read Bill's book, use BFL

website for support, Hussman has a support website that explains how and

why BFL works, use bfl support number for training and nutritional

questions.Keeping it simple but doing it daily works!

good luck,
