The reason I ask is that my husband is seriously thinking of moving to Oregon for a new job. It wont be for about a year but you cannot start looking to early when it comes to services. I would like to move to a prettier area but I'm afraid of loosing all her services. Although, I'm not to thrilled about her school program right now, it's through the County and they are putting just about anyone in the class and I am constantly having to stay on top of these things. I am so burned out. I would like to find a private school or something better than she has now. I think it's what she needs. The kids should be at the same functioning level as her. I was trying to do searches for Oregon and schools for children with autism and I'm not finding much. It is one of the most desirable places to live but mainly a resort retirement area. Oregon has been hit hard with the economy, especially areas like Bend. They call Bend, " poverty with a view! " lol The Bend La-Pine school district is not the BEST but far from the worse. We have autism specialist in our state that co-ordinate all related services and work closely with the schools.
