Guest guest
Apparently it is not unheard of for the feds to call the shots at the state level. This is typical of the massive problem we're all facing at the state level. The USDA provides funds to help finance the states in implementing the Fed's agenda. This new state NAIS threat is just one example of this. We're thinking of either filing a lawsuit, or some type of formal complaint against our state dept of agriculture for biting at this unfair program. I was just involved in an exempt poultry (less than 1,000) birds issue here in Maine. The Maine dept of ag has been provided 50% funding for operating a state meat and poultry inspection program. When it came time to write rules for small poultry producers, the state pulled down USDA wording meant for larger producers, and implemented them for our very small producers. WHen we all testified and cried fowl(), the head of the Agricultural department said that the USDA was threatening to withhold funding for the meat and inspection program if the rules were not implemented. Forget the 10th amendment, this is happening every day in America. That's why I'm trying to urge people to get involved at the state level NOW on NAIS, and expose what's happening before their states accept funding and start coming down on we producers. Once the states sign these cooperative funding agreements, the fine print kicks in and it becomes very hard to change. > > > Isn't it illegal for the USDA (or the FDA) or any federal agency to > use taxpayer dollars on issues of states rights? > > nne
