Guest guest
Hello, I hope everyone is doing well and the challenges are getting easier as the school year progresses. I have a almost 5 year old daughter who is on the spectrum and is an amazing little girl she tries very hard to make friends but has auditory processing issues, and when she gets excited flaps a little. We live in the San Valley, CA. Noel is in and Aphasia Class which works on speech and language. Although Noel is very verbal she has problems with receptive language. Noel plays well with other children and tends to be more passive. Since the A thing tends to effect more boys than girls Noel's class is all boys and she does not have the opportunity to be with other girls. So if there are any moms and daughters in the area who have the time and want to get together for some play dates or if you know of any groups in the area please let me know. Thanks, Cheryl
Guest guest
Hi Cheryl, I'm no where near you (NJ), however my daughter (7 yrs. old) had that same problem in school last year. She was the only girl in her classroom. Luckily, this year, she is at a new school and there are 5 girls and 3 boys in her class. While you are looking for playdates, you may want to check into community dance classes or recreational art groups. That is what I did. We've met parents through those and have had playdates come about because of them. Most of the after school activities that I enroll my daughter in are inclusion based classes, but I always make it a point to speak to the facilitators ahead of time about my daughter's dx. and go from there. It's really worked out well for us. Karmen Girls just wanna have fun... Hello, I hope everyone is doing well and the challenges are getting easier as the school year progresses.
