We had a TORNADO just an hour and a half south of here, near Salem, Oregon, our capital!  I thought this only happened in the Wizard of Oz, not the Pacific NW!

Well, I live in the Arctic zone (Michigan) and we got hit with snow and ice from Canada, NOT FUN!

Monday when I tried driving to work I got stuck on a road that wasn't salted...bumper to bumper then I got stuck on ice TWICE!       It's bitter cold here too!  We may get into the 20's tomorrow...heat wave!

WOW scary! My Aunt Joan got caught in a tornado a few years ago while she was at work and she FREAKED OUT and almost torn off her boss's shirt! When I was down there visiting her and my other relatives there was a tornado warning but luckily it didn't come close to us.She and my other Aunts, Uncle and cousins live in Nebraska...they DO get twisters. Maybe they sent one your way???The weather sure has been changing the last few years.Stay safe! Jen

Crazy!!! It is just REALLY cold here - I think our average temps this time of year are supposed to be upper 40's and it is in the 20's. I hate cold, I hate winter....snow is ok if it happens on the weekend and does not need to be shoveled.... :)DonnaTo: exercisevideos Sent: Tue, December 14, 2010 9:48:45 PMSubject: Re: OT Bad weather

Last Friday we had snow squalls for about an hour - and, here in the MD/DC/VA area we are less than equipped to deal with it. The hour long snowstorm resulted in several major roads being closed due to ice/accidents! I hate winter!DonnaTo: BeWellandFit-YAHOO-Group <BeWellandFit >; Biggest Losers - Losing Weight

I live in Indiana -- tornadoes are a regular weather feature. I seen a few.

I don't mind the snow, but I hate ice. My younger son just lost a friend to a

car accident when she slid through an intersection and was t-boned. :-( Very

sad.

Bitter cold here, too, right now.

I hate ICE the most too and the BITTER cold! I hate going outside. And guess what? We still don't have our new storm door! I've been waiting forever for it.....I hope they bring it before we get more snow.In London Canada they got about 16 inches of snow! Isn't that right Carolyn? I have Deaf friends who live in London and St. ....I feel sorry for them and for the 300+ cars that were stranded for over 24 hours on Canada's highway 402! JenSubject: Re: OT Bad weatherTo:

i heard something like 3 feet of snow....LOL... everyone

exaggerates, but it really was some huge amount. we got off

lucky where i live (45 minutes north of london)... normally we

are in the 'snow belt' but we only got a bunch of snow last

sunday and that was it. that sucked though because we were

going to st thomas to visit with my parents and brother for xmas,

but we were forced to turn back for home because of the weather.

i was very disappointed :( all of the people who were

stranded on the super-highway in their cars (around 200 people, i

think it was) have now all been rescued by the provincial police,

the military and private people on snowmobiles, snow plows, etc.

how awful that must have been for them!

I would hate to be stranded over-night in my car in a freezing cold blizzard! I had a hard enough time getting stuck on the ice TWICE! 45 minutes North of London, now I can picture where you live. I know that St. is about 30 minutes from London but I don't remember in which direction. I have Deaf friends that live in London and one good Deaf friend of mine and her family (son and boyfriend) live in St. , so I've been to both places. London is like a college town and St. is like Iowa LOL Will you be able to see your parents this week? We (my mom and I) never see our relatives during the holidays because they live in Nebraska and we just don't have the money to go....oh well, we still enjoy Chirstmas and New Years

together! Jen

YIKES....so far your storms have missed us (north Jersey) but I'm sure we'll get our comeuppance sooner or later. You are expected to drive to work in icy conditions? They can't video conference you? Sype is an inexpensive option, they should look into it, after all, your life is more important.

Oh boy, that's crazy! My friends in CA are telling me it's cold, that is naturally relative but for them it's really cold . I'm forever having to clarify chilly, cold, freezing and effing freezing to my northeastern friends...high 30's isn't chilly people, i'm just saying -LOL

Yea my agency just thinks I can teleport myself to various locations in the winter, no problem! I wish I could skype to work or video conference, it would do wonders for my frazzled winter driving nerves! Jen
