Today's 5K Jingle Bell Run

...was a lot of fun!  *Almost* as fun as the Shamrock Run!I learned that attendance this year was four times greater than that of last year.  YAY!  The $ benefits the Arthritis Foundation, a very good cause!

There were lots of adorable outfits!  I ran with a santa hat to keep my shaved head warm, as it was 39 degrees this morning, but pleasant all the same.  Next year I will work on a cute costume, all it takes is a pajama outfit from Target, some more jingle bells, and voila!  There were running dogs dressed as reindeer and lots of elves.  Santa passed out candy canes at the end, but the best part was the freebie stand.  After I picked up a banana and half a bagel and water, I went straight for the NUUN water stand, and I shamelessly raided the box.  These are expensive electrolyte fizzie tablets, perfect for long runs because they don't weigh anything.

I feel good!  Hopefully I burned off some of the nacho cheese doritos and sweat out some of the wine from last night's Xmas party - the scale was NOT nice to me this morning but I have no one to blame but myself for that. No more alcohol for me for a very long time.  When I didn't drink for a year I lost 40 lbs and that's almost exactly what my goal is.  Simple solution.  , feel free to remind me of why we aren't drinking wine anymore from time to time, k?
