Topic: ARD/IEP and Addressing Behavior 

Gloria is

a parent advocate with the firm Cirkiel and Associates in Texas.  Gloria

previously worked as a special education advocate for Advocacy Inc. and as a

parent advocate for MHMR County. Gloria is also a parent to a child

diagnosed with autism. She will discuss the ARD/IEP process and especially how

to address behavior in an IEP.  This meeting is in collaboration with the ARC

of Dallas, Lifepath Systems, and Path Project.

Self-Advocacy Group Teens (7th Grade

and up) & Adults with Autism.

Participants

will learn about autism and its’ effect on their lives while developing a

great appreciation for their individual gifts and talents. It is important that

participants know they have autism. Several ASCC Board Members, including some

with autism, facilitate the group activities. Bring an object, book, picture or

other item that represents their talents, gifts and interests. Bring $5.00 to

pay for pizza, snacks and soft drinks.

The meeting starts at 7:00 p.m. and lasts the length of the general meeting.
